Adventure Lust

Adventure Lust

Written in Hiawatha National Forest, outside Au Train, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Yesterday, Leah and I had an interesting conversation about our current locale and where we are headed next.  It was fascinating because both of us acknowledged that we are getting antsy for more adventure.  I.e. we miss the ample adventure opportunities in Colorado and Utah.

It’s not that we want to do a Via Ferrata or intense Canyon every day (although it’d be awesome if we attained enough physical conditioning to be able to do so!), but we do miss having an easy climb or invigorating hike within easy reach.

Kinda missing this type of adventure!

To be fair to our locale, this area is definitely not lacking in adventure opportunity.  I suppose our realization is mostly that we appreciate areas where adventure is so abundant that it is built into the culture.  In the midwest, we find we have to make a more concerted effort, which is definitely a task we will start doing more frequently!  Especially in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, possibilities absolutely abound: including rock climbing, paddle boarding the Painted Rocks, and numerous waterfall hikes.

Reflections!
A bit of rowing at Tahquamenon Falls.
Beautiful hiking to Chapel Rock.
